“Sicilian Landscape”

My latest work is a panel suitable for outdoor settings (as in this case) such as terraces and verandas, as well as indoors, such as in kitchens, heating stoves, fireplaces, etc.

This is how majolica appears before the firing process; in this phase, mineral pigments are still in the form of powder.

After cooking at almost one thousand degrees the pigments crystallize and vitrify, the colors become vivid and brilliant, and the ceramic acquires its characteristic luster.
